International Jean-Monnet Summer School “The European Green Deal and the Circular Economy”

On 10 June 2021, Sharing and the City researcher Yuliya Voytenko Palgan presented at the International Jean Monnet Summer School and Roundtable “The European Green Deal and the Circular Economy: Challenges for Ukraine” organised online from Kyiv, Ukraine, by the National University of Food Technologies with support from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine. The summer school collected 100+ international participants including MSc and PhD students, and professionals in the field of sustainability. In her presentation “Sharing Economy: Definitions, Examples and Sustainability” Yuliya introduced the sharing economy concept and its multiple definitions, and discussed the design and business models of sharing economy organisations. Yuliya provided examples of the sharing economy organisations from the three sharing segments: accommodation, mobility and physical goods, and discussed their contributions to sustainability. The presentation was well-received by the summer school participants and raised a lively discussion.
